logoRadon Management of Kentucky, Inc. was started in 1986 by Vance Walker. Mr. Walker was trained by US EPA Senior Scientists A.B. (Chick) Craig and Paul Wagner. This training program was part of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s radon proficiency program which preceded today’s NEHA and NRSB certification programs. Vance Walker has been listed with a regulating agency since 1986. Read below for a short history of Radon Management of Kentucky.

In 1991 Vance worked with A.B. Craig on a successful project for the Jefferson County School System in Louisville, KY diagnosing and designing systems for schools affected by indoor radon gas.

In 1992 Vance was invited as a panel member for the Louisville and Jefferson County board of health’s radon action committee. Other organizations involved in this panel discussion were the American Lung Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, the Mayor’s Office and various other health agencies. This task force produced a statement to be released to the public warning of the dangers of radon gas.

In 1994 Vance Walker was contacted by the Lincoln Trail Health Department to be involved get involved with a local project. The project offered low cost radon reduction for housing in their district per a federal grant.

Mr. Walker has appeared both on television and in the newspaper in efforts to inform the public on the dangers of radon gas.

Mr. Walker has personally mitigated over 3000 homes as well as dozens of apartments and multi-story buildings.
